Newborn babies are amazing! They are so innocent and although they look at you, you know they have no idea of the incredible journey they are on. I had the amazing opportunity to photograph this adorable little girl just seven days after she was born! Her parents were so relaxed, calm and so wonderful as they admired their adorable little baby.
Thank you to Miss M's parents for allowing me to share in their joy and come into their home to capture your little bundle of wonder! I am most certain that she has changed and grown in the short amount of time since these images were captured on August 14th!

{BWCA ~ Camping and family fun}
Our family enjoyed a few nights surrounded by nature and family in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The kids had a great time playing in the water, exploring the woods and s'mores galore!

{summer fun}
We ventured up to my husband's family cabin over the 4th of July... It is really an open room with three sets of bunkbeds, fridge, stove and no running water. Yes, they do have a 'state of the art' outhouse a few yards from the cabin. The kids always have a great time and enjoyed spending time in the lake!
Here are a few shots captured over the weekend in Northern Minnesota!

hoping you had a wonderful 4th of July with family, friends and a ton of fun!
Be well,
Suzanne

{89 Years and Counting}
I had a great opportunity to meet the mother of a dear friend of mine here in the Twin Cities. Char and I were neighbors when I first moved to Plymouth, MN in 1997. Her mother, Yvette, was relocated to the area from New Hampshire a little over a year ago. Yvette will turn 90 on February 11, 2011 and I couldn't believe she was 89!
I had a wonderful time learning about her youth, how she met her husband at the bowling alley and how she was a dancer for the USO who was nicknamed "Cookie" by the soldiers. She also shared the final days that she spent with her husband, Charlie, that was very touching and heart warming.
The time I shared with her and her daughter Char made me realize that there is a great deal of wisdom, history and amazing stories captured in the minds of our senior citizens. If there is someone in your life who you would like to have portraits of, I do hope you will consider me as your custom photographer.
Char commented that I was able to capture the 'essence' of who her mother is and was able to engage her in some amazing conversations that made her so happy to reminisce about.
Be well,
Suzanne

{Great Subject}
I had the pleasure of attending Cheryl Muhr's The Secret Photography Workshop in mid-May. There were several young models that joined us one afternoon for us to 'shoot'. This young guy was so sweet. He was so so shy initially and within two minutes, he would take a pose and ask me, "How's this? or This?" His parents couldn't get over how quickly he came out of his shell with me. It was a true treat to photograph him and here are a few of my favorites.
